Occupied rooms and empty apartments need different plans
Tell us whether the space will be empty or furnished. Include large items that cannot move, access to the walls, and whether a room must remain usable at the end of the day. Do not move heavy furniture or disconnect equipment just to obtain a quote.
For a managed building, send its work-hour and contractor-access requirements first. An estimate should not assume permission, parking, elevator use, or documents that have not been confirmed.
Make the finish choices visible
Specify walls, ceilings, trim, and doors separately. Photograph the room in normal daylight where practical and include a close-up of the existing texture. If you know the current paint brand, color, and sheen, share those details.

Surface condition comes before paint selection
Flag peeling, water marks, cracks, soft areas, and previous patches. Describe whether the cause of a stain or moisture issue has been resolved. Painting is not a repair for an active moisture problem.
